Spring at Mortimer & Bennett
March 09
Well, what a start to 2009, the coldest winter for many years and gloomy predictions every time we listen to the news, but here at M&B we are determined to stay upbeat. Christmas is now long forgotten and with spring on its way, we feel that our customers will still be looking for that special treat or small luxury to enjoy at home or with friends.
We often add new products to the web site and this month take a look at the Italian biscuits in the new cakes and biscuits section. This year we have added Ossi di Morto, (bones of the dead!) to the range, which are crunchy hazelnut macaroon style biscuits. These are a big favourite with our regular customers. Our Pain d'Epices cake in a tin was very popular at the end of last year and we also stock a smaller version by the same baker. This is a traditional French honey and spice cake in natural or four tempting flavours.
The Easter section would not be complete without Bonnat's wonderful real hen's eggs that are hand blown and lined with dark chocolate with a rich praline filling. We have been stocking these for 12 years and always sell out very quickly, so make sure to place your order early.
Enjoy the spring and have a lovely Easter.
Best wishes,
Dan Mortimer.
