Well, it looks like even the most optimistic of us would have to admit that summer is now officially over. But while we mourn the days of eating buffalo mozzarella al fresco, there’s an awful lot of great produce out there, and there’s no need to go back to starchy, wintry suppers quite yet.
If you’re still in the mood for a salad, try making a dressing with our Pumpkin Seed Oil. Its nutty flavour gives a salad an autumnal hint, and it goes wonderfully with bitter leaves like chicory. It’s also just the thing to drizzle over roasted squash or pumpkin soup.
Womersley fruit vinegars and dressings are still wonderful at this time of year. If you’ve been out picking blackberries, try dressing the fruit with one of Womersley’s Fruit Vinegars. Sweeter than your average vinegar, they bring out the natural flavour of your fruit wonderfully, while adding a hint of their own.
And now we’re well past the glorious twelfth, try some of our Delizie d’Italia Preserves with your game cold cuts. Fig and Chilli is a great preserve for this time of year, and cuts through the richness of game beautifully. There are three other flavours as well, and they complement cheese nicely, too.
Finally, as the nights draw in, why not treat yourself to a really good cup of tea. No, I mean a really good cup of tea. Tea Forte is a range of the finest quality tea, enclosed in a silken bag. The tea is incredibly low in tannin, so it doesn’t leave a residue in your cup. And if you’re looking for a reason to justify paying fifteen pounds for twelve teabags, each bag should be good for three cups of tea. There, can’t say fairer than that.
